Supported Phones & Key Modules
We get asked all the time what older devices will work with the latest release of OpenScape Business.
This update covers all existing models. Namely X1 / X3 / X5 / X8 and “S”
Here’s your definitive guide…
• TDM phones:
These included phones with an / a / b, digital UP0 and cordless / DECT interfaces
• IP / HFA phones:
These include telephones / devices with Ethernet LAN / Wi-Fi interface and the HiPath Feature Access
(HFA) protocol.
• IP / SIP phones:
These include phones / devices with Ethernet LAN / Wi-Fi interface and SIP (Session Initiated
Protocol).
On OpenScape Business X models TDM, IP HFA and SIP devices can be operated
OpenScape Business S only supports IP / HFA and SIP devices.

Telephones and terminal devices that are no longer included in the current Mitel product portfolio can still be used connected and operated on OpenScape Business.
However, Mitel no longer provides technical support for these devices and the automatic software update via the DLI is generally no longer supported. In the event of problems, the device must be replaced with a device from the current portfolio.
Further details, such as the required SW versions of the devices can be found in the respective technical release notes.
Optiset E devices cannot be operated on OpenScape Business.
OptiPoint 500 device family cannot be operated in combination with V3 mainboards
TDM Devices
CP TDM Handsets
All “CP TDM” Handsets are supported and the current range is:
- CP200T
- CP400T
There are two newer models that are imminent, namely the CP205 and CP405.
OpenStage Handsets
The OpenStage family of handsets were end of life in 2018 with support ending in 2021 and spares availability ending in 2023.
The following handsets will work but it is advised to replace with newer models.
- OpenStage 10 T
- OpenStage 15 T
- OpenStage 30 T
- OpenStage 40 T
- OpenStage 60 T
IP HFA Devices (System Telephones)
CP HFA Handsets
All “CP HFA” Handsets are supported and the current range is:
- CP110
- CP210
- CP410
- CP710
The older CP handsets (100, 200, 205, 400, 600, 600e, 700 and 700X) are all supported but can no longer be purchased.
Note: The current range (CP110,210,410,710) require V3R2 software as a minimum.
OpenStage Handsets
The OpenStage family of handsets were end of life in 2018 with support ending in 2021 and spares availability ending in 2023.
The following handsets will work but it is advised to replace with newer models.
- OpenStage 15
- OpenStage 40
- OpenStage 60
Desk Phone IP35 / IP55
The IP range is supported on OpenScape Business.
However, the range is end of life with Hardware and software support ending in June 2023 with all product activity ending in June 2025.
