AI & Automation UpdateLet%u2019s start with a case studyThe unify CP range is a popular choice when deploying OSBiz systems. We were aware that Unify had done some work to allow distributors and resellers to program these phones remotely, but we had never seen it done.Unify%u2019s own documentation revealed there was in fact an API for programming them remotely. We did a quick trial and realised it didn%u2019t work. A brief discussion with the technical team at Unify led to a very quick tweak on their side and we had a working solution within days. Each handset simply needed an extension number and the IP address of the OSBiz server. We identify each handset from its MAC address and using the API can program the details directly onto the phone, so that as soon as it is plugged in it will go and fetch this information. The solution was timely, Martin at Dove Communications had landed a contract with a school... for 1400 handsets! Programming these manually would have taken approximately 3 minutes per phone, so around 5 days work.By using the API we simply had a list of the MAC addresses for the phones and extension numbers, pressed a button and an hour later all phones were programmed. All that was left to do was plug them in and let them download their details to bring the phone to life. That is the power of automation.Gary KindI%u2019ll be giving you regular updates and briefs on this sector, with case studies and real world solutions to help you understand the power of these amazing tools.I%u2019ll be showing you how to harness the power of AI, not just in your own business, but that of your customers too.I often get asked %u201cWell what can you automate?%u201dThe simple answer is; anything!Welcome to the AI and automation section!
